The MBL is committed to providing a workplace that is free from the sale, possession, and distribution of illegal drugs and controlled substances. Employees are required to adhere to this drug-free policy as a condition of employment. Renters of space, faculty, students, and visitors are required to adhere to this policy as a condition of participating in MBL activities and programs. For employees who violate the policy, disciplinary action will be taken, which may result in termination or require satisfactory participation in an approved drug-abuse rehabilitation program. Renters of space, faculty, students, and visitors who violate this drug-free workplace policy will be asked to leave the MBL immediately without refund of fees and with the possibility of a ban from future use of the MBL’s facilities. This policy also requires employees to notify their supervisors and the Human Resources Office of any criminal drug statue conviction in the workplace no later than five days after such conviction.  The MBL’s Drug-free Workplace Policy is available in the Grass Reading Room of the MBL Library, the Human Resources Office at 110 Homestead Building, or on the MBL web site.
